Our Mission

At Alvarez-Chan, our mission is to foster kindness within Stuyvesant High School. We aim to provide resources, organize events, and use social media to keep our classmates engaged in the virtual Stuyvesant community. As the only ticket with two female running mates, we hope to uplift all Stuyvesant voices through our ticket all the while making a small step towards gender equality. After all, who runs the world? Girls.

Turning Over a New Leaf

A main priority of the Alvarez-Chan campaign is to enter our sophomore year with a fresh start. After surviving a rocky first year at Stuyvesant, we now know what we need from the caucuses. We at AC promise honesty and maturity from our cabinet should we be elected.

Co-Presidents

Kate Alvarez

Kate is a Filipino-American sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. In the 2020-2021 school semester as Sophomore Caucus co-president, she hopes to make minority groups represented in student government and to help all students feel more accepted in such an intense environment.

Iris Chan

Iris is a Hong Kong-American sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. As Sophomore Caucus co-president, her goals would be to promote inclusivity and a sense of community. Thereby, creating a positive environment that all students can feel safe and thrive in.

Campaign Managers

Sabiha Amin

Sabiha is a Bengali-American sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. She is a campaign manager for the Alvarez-Chan campaign because she supports their mission to provide students with a platform for resources, information, and support.

Lea Espiov

Lea is a Russian-American sophomore at Stuy. She is a campaign manager for Iris and Kate because she wants to help provide resources to sophomores and create a welcoming atmosphere for the student body!

Ben Balodis

Ben is a Lithuanian-American sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. He is a campaign manager for Iris and Kate because they want to help to create a more inclusive and productive environment and they would like to improve access to college resources to every student.

Eleanor Leung

Eleanor is a Chinese-American sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. She is a campaign manager for the Alvarez-Chan campaign because she wants to further strengthen communication and inclusivity between students at Stuy.

Zifei Zhou

Zifei is a Chinese-American sophomore at Stuyvesant High School. She is a campaign manager for the Alvarez-Chan campaign because she wants to help the student body become more inclusive and supportive!
